Personally I think it is 100x better than windows. If only there was .exe compatibility...

Yeah, it runs exe's with Wine.

I have 3 Ubuntu computers that used to have windows that crashed

Ubuntu is great, but you really should try some other versions of Linux too. Go download Mandriva, Fedora, Sabayon, Bodhi or OpenSuse and try them out. You'll get a different (and in my opinion better) experience from all of them.
