the project "im banned" yea. Im here for that. I'm not on either side. Yet. Scratch admin, Scratch team, please get back to me on what REALLY happened. I've heard about 3 different stories, so can you clear this issue up? And peeps, if your not a mod or admin, please don't comment about "DOODY's INNOCENT!" because right now no one knows for a fact, so please, I want the scratch team to handle this.
(p.s. I think its odd that doody is actually 8 and is capable of making mutiple accounts to comment meanly so not to clutter her real account. Is an 8 year old really capable of doing that? I'm not sure. I dont mean to take a side...And to the mods: no i'm not trying to restart the topic, I JUST WANT THE TRUTH! so JSO, paddle2see, any mod or admin! PLEASE!)

If you look at this project:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Doody/415945
near the very bottom of the list of comments, you will see a comment from Andresmh stating the following:
"Hi everyone, I am a member of the Scratch Team and I just wanted to let you know that this account was not blocked. The IP address linked to this account was been blocked because it was linked to other accounts that were posting disrespectful comments. Basically the same computer was used by the same person (or different people) to create different accounts to harass other users. We don't like blocking accounts or IPs but this is the only way we have found to keep the community a friendly place."
Can an IP ban be removed? Of course...but there has to be some assurance that the behavior that lead to the ban won't be repeated. I have no idea if there is any communication going on with the Scratch Team to have the ban removed. And really, that is a matter only between Doody (or Doody's guardians) and the Scratch Team - not really something for public discussion on these Forums.
I feel a bit guilty discussing anything about this case here. But I am doing it for two reasons: First, the information released by Andresmh has already been made public in that comment. Second, it's important that people understand that making multiple accounts and then using them to harass other people is a violation of the Terms of Use and can have distinct consequences. Some users have the mistaken belief that because they are using a different account, they are anonymous and can disregard the Terms of Use without repercussions. That is not the case: every account can be linked to an IP address which can be linked to the other accounts using the same IP address. Usually, this can be resolved to a specific computer.
So, please, let's keep Scratch a friendly place so we (the administrators) don't have to keep locking people out - we really don't like doing that. We want everyone to have a good time and learn a lot using Scratch and the Scratch website. Scratch on!

Okay folks, let's calm down. If you read the post carefully:

you can see that bosox397 is specifically refering only to the set of annoying doody lovers...that may be an empty set (there may not be any). But I can see where it might easily be misinterpreted as an insulting reference. I would hope that was not the intent

Doody is still here its just she can't go online unless she gets a new computer because her computers ip address has been banned
