Bumping projects

My suggestion is that every time a NON-FRONT-PAGED project gets 10 more views, it goes to a "Recently Bumped" section. This would let unknown projects be seen again after getting off the "Newest Projects" section.

Re: Bumping projects

no, because innappropriate projects might get on the front page.

My latest project is called http://tinyurl.com/d2m8hne! It has http://tinyurl.com/d395ygk views, http://tinyurl.com/cnasmt7 love-its, and http://tinyurl.com/bwjy8xs comments.

Well, there's always a risk of inappropriate projects - the newest projects section.  And this wouldn't be totally random, it would be every ten views.

Re: Bumping projects

maybe if it was every 10 love-its instead it reduces the risk of inapproptiate projects.

Total support.

And really? Nothing happens anyway if there is an inappropriate project on the front page. It's not like the end of the world or anything.

Re: Bumping projects

Great idea, and the "inapproptiate" excuse is not enough.

Anyways, why would people view "inapproptiate" projects? I don't think this excuse was thought out enough.

I would suggest that the project would be measured on the ratio of views to loveits to favorites, such as

score = loveits/views

, which would allow even better projects to get on the front page, ones that people say they like.

Maybe.  Maybe if like the love-it's are 1/5 as many as views?

Re: Bumping projects

The thing is, a lot of people usually view a project, but never press love-it, meaning the loveit/view ratio is quite low.

You have a good point.  I considered that when someone suggested it, but I didn't bring it up.  I actually think it would be better without the love-it/view ratio.
