Giving POSITIVE Feedback

Hey New Scratchers!

I have noticed a lot of people don't know what to say in the comments of a project so it gets a little silly!

The best ways to comment about the project are:

1. Complementing and suggesting     Example: Great Project! How about adding more colors?

2. Complementing and asking           Example: Nice job! Will you make a second version?

The reason is that one, If you don't have anything nice to say, don't comment. And that just complementing doesn't really help. Asking a question and/or suggesting something allows the maker to interact with you and sometimes improve the project.

Also, I encourage you to double check your comment before posting it.

Thanks and Scratch on!

Also, never spam. If you spam, you cannot believe the hate people will show you. Some people will say they hate you etc. Of course, you should always flag these comments. But it's something too keep in mind  wink

Re: Giving POSITIVE Feedback

This is a great proposition for comments and while I have only left one so far, I will try to follow this template because it seems like a good start. You have made a good point, simply complementing doesn't help much. But what I think is important is that you don't want to critique too much. Other than that though, this is a great post.

Is "red team is super-babies" considered positive?

That probably feeds on some trollers and makes them keep trolling projects.

Re: Giving POSITIVE Feedback

This should probably be stickied or iTopiced.  Anyway, sometimes it is considered good conduct if you ask if you can use a part of a project for one of your own.  You don't have too, but sometimes the original creator likes people to ask them before using the project.

Thanks, I wish it would be. I agree with you but Scratch's slogan is: "Imagine, Program, Share".

I know, but some Scratchers like to know who is using their project before the person uses it.

I actually tried this on one project by mrcollet which can be found at http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/mrcollet/2097438. I asked whether he could add a feature where you can change the speed. The author actually made a new game which can be found at http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/mrcollet/2097819 giving credit to me. This works!
Heres the project notes:
