Yes, a lot of containers, so the facility would have to be very very big. Probably about twice as big as the sun.

The wall between paralel universes collapsing would cause the energy amount of one universe and another universe to shift, thus causing energy to 'dissappear'.  Thus giving another story altogether (Energy  content doubles).

I think that would actually make for quite an intriguing story. ^^ The humanity will not know where the energy is going and would have to investigate, which has a potential for some really good plot twists. >8D And when they finally find the truth, it'll be a moment of awesome.

While the quantum entanglement idea is very interesting, it would make the aliens seem too powerful for the humanity to even dream about defeating (can't they just use those quantum structures to simply kill all humans? And if not, then if they were able to invent something like that, then I'm pretty sure they are more than capable of inventing a powerful superweapon or something). It's also less of a subtle force, so that's makes less mystery.

But then, that's just my opinion. Use whichever plot you like best. :3

Well, the aliens aren't inherently evil. They're like Aperture Science from the video game, Portal. They're just doing it for science. They don't want to build a weapon or anything. They don't suspect that the humans would try to fight back or anything. They probably don't consider them to be particularly intelligent lifeforms.

Would you mind if I copyright my idea then go off in a corner for a few weeks writing stories?

How is that a theory? Why would another Universe have more or less energy than this?
