Signatures (I put this one first for a reason
)
First of all, if you're a New Scratcher, you can't have a sig.
Second of all, TBG and Main forum sigs are NOT the same. But you get them the same way.
To get a sig, here's what you do:
1) Figure out what you want in your sig. If it's a picture, right click on the picture and click "copy URL."
2) Go to profile. You should see the link to your profile under the Scratch logo and Scratch Forums
3) Click "Personality."
4)Paste the URL in the box. For an image, put the [img][/img] before/after the link. For a URL, do the same, but with tags.
5) Click "Submit."
Seeing your sig:
I would just like to say that I included this part because I've been a couple test topics about sigs.
1) When you click "Submit," you should see text next to that button that says "When you update your profile, you will be redirected back to this page."
2) Above the submit button, you should see a "Current signature preview" thing.
This is to prevent more topics testing sigs out
Essentials
Timezone:
If you want the forums to correctly display your times, you need to set this.
User activity: This tells you when you were registered, when your last post was, and how many posts you have. You can also click "Show all posts."
[url=http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/search.php?search_id=911335442]This is every topic that I've posted in. I found this by clicking "Show all posts."
(Note: Timezone is not working -- thanks, meowmeow55 for telling me
)
Display
Set your options for viewing posts:
Show smilies as graphic icons means that you can have :P shown as
, :) shown as
and so on, in posts. You can also check off "Never show smilies as icons for this post" when you post something.
Show user signatures means that you don't have to see signatures! If you uncheck this, that would mean that nobody would have signatures.
Show images in posts means that if somebody posts
, and you had this unchecked, you wouldn't see it.
Show images in user signatures means that if somebody has
, and you had this unchecked, you wouldn't see it.
Enter your pagination options:
You might be thinking "waaaat" when you see this. But it's quite simple. You type in the number of topics you want to see on one page, and the number of posts you want to see on one page. If you leave it blank, it uses the forum default.
Privacy
I'll update this soon, I just want to post it before my MiMi shuts down the computer.
When I get home, I'll add picture tutorials
Thanks for checking this out!

And this should probably go in All About Scratch or something.
BTW, you should note that the timezone option doesn't actually work right now
Also, searches like those for your posts are stored as IDs, so they expire after a while. Instead of using the URL you get after clicking on the "Posts" link, right-click the link and click "Copy link address" or whatever. So in this case, you would use this link to view your posts. (And your URL BBCode is broken anyway
)
You forgot to cancel out your URL tags in your signature guide too--do [[i][/i]url]this[[i][/i]/url]
.
Overall, a very good guide! I second the nomination for ITopic!

Thanks
But I don't understand what you mean by "cancel out the URL tags"

As in what you did with the smilies to make them not show up--just stick [i][/i] tags in them like I did.
