DO NOT ask to be a scratcher!
_____________________________________________________________________________________
The New Scratcher status is not to be removed when you request. The rule is in place to prevent spammers and trolls. Requesting to have your New Scratcher status to be removed will just result in denial, other than extremely special circumstances, which you should press this link. Remember, only extremely special circumstances.
Onto how to become a Scratcher quickly:
- Scratcher status is awarded for being a polite, avid (active) user. Posting lots of comments, projects and replying to threads a lot (Creating own threads as well), without abusing the Scratch TOU (Terms Of Use). If you are incredibly active, but you are impolite, this will not result in the New Scratcher status being removed. In fact, there's more of a chance you will be banned!
Remember, try a little bit, then be rewarded!

Do NOT ask to be a scratcher!
The New Scratcher status is there for a reason! Asking to be upgraded to a Scratcher will just make you seem desperate! The New Scratcher status didn't always exist, you will meet people who haven't actually been a New Scratcher (People from 2007 and 2008 (I think). Requesting to have it removed will come at no advantage to you.
Becoming a scratcher quickly is as easy as being active. Posting a lot of good quality projects, commenting on peoples projects, posting on the forums. Remember though, it is also the quality of the posts/comments. Posting spam will not get you a Scratcher status, but giving feedback will!
Remember, being a friendly person will not only gain you a Scratcher status, but popularity as well!

TELL ME WHY, MR ANDERSON.

I suppose it isn't stickied, because it hasn't been requested, and I don't feel I have enough information for this to be a sticky (ITOPIC) topic yet!

If you really wanted to be a Scratcher, you would actually try hard to do it.
Like I did.

ITOPIC are newfangled, why back in my day there was one sticky and that was all and that was not even a topic, just an announcement.... and if you said itopic people would boot you into the asylum...
But seriously, good topic. I hate it when people whine about not being a scratcher.
But then again, I was never a new scratcher, so I suppose I can't really empathise.

Lol. Neither was I, then I made this account!
Anyway, when Qwiffles made this he was a New Scratcher, so I think he is different from the norm! :S

You need to give them really good advice and convince them to look at projects and download Scratch. Make your own projects but you need to tell them to ask a parent/guardian first before downloading. Tell the new scratchers to meet some of the awesome project creators like Swifty2, Astro947, SpriteMaster, etc. I like Scratch because you get to make cool stuff about video games, animations, etc. It is awesome to use Scratch because you get to make your own Scratch projects that is why I enjoy Scratch so much. Tell new scratchers there are Collab Camps and stuff like that. That is how you introduce new scratchers to Scratch. If they forget, the site name is scratch.mit.edu
Nice grammar.
I can't even read it.
It's a giant run-on sentance! Ahh, the conflict! *expoldes*

I have been on for two years, commented a ton, shared a lot of projects, and yet I'm still not a 'scratcher'. but I honestly don't care.

Actually the "New Scratcher" system came out in mid-2011.
Not 2009. Close though, you were a good three years off.

There is already a topic about this. Also, it is even stickied.
Nope. Not really. That covers EVERYTHING about it, this covers why not to ask.
And this topic was created in a response to the large amount of requesting to be Scratchers at the time.
