Yeah...the timer never stops. I usually make my own timer with a variable and a loop that increments the variable every second. That way I can make it stop when I want and hide it too.

Could you be more specific about what is wrong when you use the timer? I prefer not to use the timer because it is not very flexible. Please note that the timer starts when you first open Scratch and will only reset itself when a the <reset timer> block is pressed.
