If you want to post something you thought of yourself then saw was already posted somewhere else in the topic post it here.

Happens to me a lot, and I think this will help with dupe posts too.

Oh, you can also use this as a discussion thread for things that aren't quite big enough to be threads but are too big to be considered chats.

To create a "mini thread", Simply put [(thread name)] and two blank lines before your post! Same goes for replying to the "mini thread", just put [(thread name)] and two blank lines before your post!
This'll help a lot with cleaning up the forums by only allowing the threads that are big enough to be threads be seperate threads. I think.

I really don't think it will... there would be too much and make it hard for mods to control.

this confuses me as it's one thread as opposed to many.
it will be less work for the mods to check one thread for a lot of posts as opposed to many for few each.
The profanity filter will have an easier time with less new topics around

I'm also using this as an alternative to a billion "official topic"s so there isn't one that won't last something close to forever.

as in

Ah, you're still thinking that there will be the same amount of new topics per day it seems.
And refer to my post.
Put [(thread name)] and two blank lines before a mini thread post.
This will help with organization.

An interesting idea here! But I think we would really like to continue to see each topic deal with just a single subject. Otherwise, it would get really confusing to readers trying to figure out which topic was being discussed by which post. And some subjects might "outgrow" the single thread and have to be moved off into their own topic - that would be a lot of work for the moderators trying to locate all the posts and move them. Sorry, but no thanks. Keep thinking though smile
