How do I find out my level?
If you don't take AR tests, you don't get one.
If you do take them, your teacher gives your level to you.
@nextstorm
At my school, we take AR tests. An AR test is a test with questions that depend on the book.
To check out an AR book, you need to make sure it's within your level. You cannot check it out if it's above or below your level.
You AR level is usually based off of your reading level. I read at a college level, so I have the highest possible level.
The difficulty/length of a book also depends on the AR level.
When books are published, they do not have an AR level. Schools will put AR levels on them (as far as I know
).

Hooray, somebody else who actually uses the same program my school does.

um
we don't have them at my school
but I wanna find out my level
and there is a differance between comprehending text and being able to answer questions based off of said text
one may not be able to infer as well as another even if they do have the same ability to comprehend the words
just thinking about that

Nowadays (in eighth grade) we have a minimum limit on levels (usually 5) but no maximum.
I remember back in 3rd grade, I got the most AR points in my grade and I got pizza XD

Uh, we don't have levels anymore but last year I got PHS (Past High School). And I used to have to get like 150 pts but now I only have to read one book per quarter
(Not that I don't love reading, but it's stressful having to get all those points)

We use Fountas & Pinnell. It's an A-Z system.

I have a 9th grade reading level. Pretty good for a 6th grader.
I need 25 AR points to not do reading logs for the rest of the quarter. I haven't gotten there yet. I read a lot, I'm just too lazy to do the tests.
Acctually, I just finished a 7-point book called "The Lighthouse Land
It's really good. It's about a boy, named Jamie who lost his arm (and voice along with it) to cancer. They are poor, and live in a rundown apartment. They then get a letter that one of their relitives died, and they left their house in Ireland to them. They then go off to live there, and the house is on an island. The island has a lighthouse and a strange device called "The Salmon" which takes Jamie and his new friend, Ramsey to another world.
I don't want to spoil much of the book, so that's the first 3 chapters in a nutshell.
