Yeah, I found that out a while ago. I call it mob fishing. It works with monsters, and sometimes the creepers explode in middair.

IT'S SO FUN!        

EDIT: You can do it with squids, if you happen to find a beached squid.

Nope, you need beta for that. It's well-worth the twenty dollars, though- I highly recommend it.

In creative, all you do is build. There's nothing else.

So the only feature is build. No crafting, no fighting, and no health. It's not very fun considering there's now a creative mode for beta.

Not really. There's potions ingredients (Spider eye, magma cream, and blaze powder), and you can make glass bottles, but they don't do anything as of yet.

Lantern - a bright late game torch made like so

It provides as much light as glowstone, but can be put on walls like a torch


Dynamite - a weak throwable explosive

Obsidian Tools
You can make an obsidian ingot by smelting obsidian and crafting it with an iron ingot. These tools are weak but invincible and can mine anything (but slowly)...
