I can't figure it out, the records even say when the Doctor dies, and the episode description of Closing Time says "Living out his last days of life, the Doctor goes to visit an old friend...", so how will he get out of it? My brother said maybe it was the 200 years he was away during that series, but then Amy and Rory wouldn't be in it...

We think that somehow the ganger Doctor escaped and that'd explain why he keeps alternating between jackets in the last few episodes.

I actually saw a quite old special recently called The Five Doctors, and the Second Doctor actually says nearly the exact same line near the beginning of it.
