Insane Smiley Face Moon Twister

I am fairly new to Scratch. I don't think I've done anything earth shattering. But, I spent about 4 days on a game, uploaded it, and got 5 views, no comments or any other response.

Is this normal? I'd love to get some feedback. Any bugs, suggestions, etc. I wasn't sure if I should add more levels, make them harder, add more elements, etc.

I don't mean to complain, but if the Scratch community is totally saturated, as a number of art forms are, then I have to wonder if it's worth uploading work.

I have left comments on other people's projects, and done a couple of remixes, so I'm not looking for a one way street.

Anyway, the new project I uploaded yesterday is <a href="http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/dhgeyer/2047897">here</a> if anyone cares to look at it. I would appreciate it. I'm assuming adding HTML code works on this forum.

Thanks,

Dave Geyer

Re: Insane Smiley Face Moon Twister

Oh, I see I can't post links because I'm a new member. And I did it wrong anyway. Now I can't even see a way to delete the previous post and do it again. Or not do it, since I can't post a link anyway. I never saw a forum from which I couldn't delete my own unanswered post. Well, now I have.

Re: Insane Smiley Face Moon Twister

Please disregard the above posts. I have deleted the project in question, and my other projects as well.

Scratch is a great tool. It's a lot of fun, and is apparently enjoying great success in attracting young people to programing concepts. However, I must reluctantly conclude, from my own experience and that of others, that trying to participate in the "Scratch Community" is a waste of time. It has just gotten too crowded. One posts projects, remixes others' projects, makes comments on others' projects, and there is no response. It's not a community anymore. It's a megapolis, and people are lost in it.

I will not be logging in to this website in the foreseeable future.

If you work hard, you will get noticed. Try posting some advertisements in Show and Tell, adding your projects to galleries, adding relevant tags to your projects. If you get friends, that also helps. Try making projects for the Scratch Design Studio; those get on the front page often.  smile
