They tell me to expect the unexpected, but...
if you expect the unexpected, then the unexpected becomes expected. So......?

Actually, I think not. I believe this is only false information. Because You're telling someone to do something that isn't impossible, untill you attempt it.

If you expect the unexpected, you're expecting for something that you didn't expect to happen. However, you wouldn't expect for one particular unexpected thing to happen. (Then it would be expected.) Since you still don't know or expect ahead of time a specific event, it's sill unexpected.

That was the point. You're not expecting any particular event, just that your day probably won't go exactly as expected.
