Oh snap! I accidentally left my computer on for like 11 hours! And my lights too in my room! Good thing nobody found out....

I think I did that too.

When I went to the computer room, the computer was on. O_O

Maybe someone turned it on for me, or I just set it to sleep.

I think I forgot to turn it off.

I always leave my laptop in sleep mode. But after 18 hours of inactivity it hibernates.
Also, I sometimes deliberately leave my laptop on (overnight) because I need to complete some large uploads/downloads.

I really find no use of leaving the computer on. Because it could:

Run out of battery
Waste electricity
Shorten life span
If you have password and it is on, somebody else could go on

and some more that I can't think up of.
