Did you rename the old 1.8.1 jar or delete it? If you renamed it you can just rename the current minecraft.jar "1.9 pre minecraft.jar" and rename the 1.8.1 minecraft.jar to "minecraft.jar" without the "'s of course

We've put vines all around the wall now (endermen can't pick blocks with vine on up).
But in a few days 1.9'll come out and Notch is removing the endermen block placing.

No, only 10 minutes every few minecraft days, take it in shifts, say every 3rd day they do guard duty. Meaning they have a chance to go mining/exploring for the other fourty minutes.
