I can play baritone. What do you need help with? I can tell you fingerings and whatnot, how to get a good tone, practicing techniques, etc.

Practice a lot - every day, maybe 20 minutes a day
Learn scales and technique
Don't be afraid to ask questions
When trying to learn a difficult part, practice one measure at a time.

Let's see... There are lots of thinks to think about when striving for good tone, and since I haven't heard you before, I'm not entirely sure what you might need to change. A lot of brass players have nasally tones. One thing to do to help that is opening up your teeth. Make sure your top and bottom teeth never touch, or even come close to touching.

I am not sure what a "wooly booger" is. I am also not quite sure what "music juice." Are you talking about spit? Maybe you're just not a very spitty person...   

And the valve question: I've heard that that sometimes happens if you are pressing the valves in a different way than the previous player did. There's nothing wrong with what you are doing, it is just that the valves bend a bit to match what the previous user doing. Pretty much the only solution is to keep using the baritone until the valves bend to match you.

Thanks. I tried loosening the valve a bit. It works, but comes up a bit slow. If it helps, it's a Jupiter.
