Old and new versions of Scratch

I want to download a project that a player made so I could see how he did the advanced things, but Scratch wont let me open it because its made on an older version of Scratch. Why?

Are you sure it was made with an older verison?  As far as I know, Scratch 1.3.1 can open files made with older versions.  Where you run into trouble is if you are running an older version, say 1.2.1, and you try and open a file created by a newer version like 1.3.  Then you get the Bad Header error.

Re: Old and new versions of Scratch

If you want, you can try opening it with an older version of scratch.
You can download most versions here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2469

I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Re: Old and new versions of Scratch

I downloaded a program made with an older version of scratch and it works just fine with 1.3.1
