2/3 of the projects on the front page have been removed! 0_0 I'm not sure whether this is funny or just plain bad. I only saw one of the projects before it was blocked and they gave their real password out and people were going on the account.
What do you think?

The other one is the kinda the same. I don't think either of those were good ideas at all...

Partially fixed because the scratch team removed both.
Partially? What else do you think is wrong? ^^
I wonder what the mechanics for selecting the projects are. I've been keeping track of the top viewed page lately and I noticed a pattern. After some time on the front page, the top viewed projects would be removed from the top viewed section completely and get replaced by other, less viewed projects. Is it just a timer or is it more complex?

Maybe both? Top Viewed projects has a time slot of 4 days (anything older and it get's bumped off or moved to another slot if it still fits the requirements), that's known. But recently there's been of a front page mishap lately with some SDS projects hitting the Top Viewed slot making it unfair for other projects to hit that slot, so the Scratch Team has been trying to remove those projects from the slot to let the other projects be viewed (this being a temporary fix to a known problem).

Timer is 5 days for Top Viewed and Top Loved is 9-10 I believe. Top Viewed may be 4 days but idk

IMO you should have a section showing the most viewed of all time, most loved of all time, most remixed, etc.

That'd be cool but it would always be the same

Yeah, but they'd be seperate sections once you click on "see more", and they'd show the most popular projects of all time, while the front page would still be the same.

ik it was pointless, so it shouldn't have gotten on the front page. Anyone know what i'm talking about?
Top viewed should be removed. Half tje projects on there are pointless and bad.

I would not say that, just it's pretty bad when more than half the projects on top viewed were taken down because of flagging.

Scratch has been chaotic lately. Nikki and Kao are back, the _meow_ thing has been discovered, and the negatives.

It isn't so much about removing project, but rather getting people to flag bad thing immediately when they see them.
It's hard to prevent bad things from hitting the front page if people don't report them right away. At least if the project is reported right away, it can be removed from the website or marked as "not for everyone" by an administrator, preventing it from ever hitting the front page (the action taken depends on the content in the project).
-> Keep in mind though, that the Top Viewed slot is still community controlled. If you disagree with a front-page project that is within Community Guidelines, then we as a community only have ourselves to blame whenever we continually keep viewing that project and keeping the project up there.
