No need to trash his project, just because you don't like html.

Actually, quite a lot of people care about HTML  smile

I notice a lot of people on Scratch have their own websites.  It's important to understand HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language) if you want to work on building websites since that is the language they are written in.

I tried building a website but didn't know enough of HTML to do what I wanted with it.

I wanted to make a better site than the Freewebs ones, so I learned HTML. But like Paddle2See said, not everybody cares about HTML!  big_smile

Re: ScratchWebs - Program your own website!

This Will Be Fun! I Made My Website Out Of HTML. But For Some Reason I Don't Think HTML is enough to create a great website. How I Learned Most Of It Was from a website but i don't remember what its called... sad  Hey! I Have An Idea! We Could Create Our Own Code To Make A Website! We Could Make It Easier and Maybe Someone Could Create A Converter From Scratch That Changes It To HTML  big_smile  That Would Be Fun!

It might be hard, but I am up for it. I am experienced in web programming languages.

Re: ScratchWebs - Program your own website!

Making a html editing program would be pretty hard because of the lack of string commands. I'll try to remix this project and see how it turns out.

Re: ScratchWebs - Program your own website!

i wanted to make it so you can program html and make a viewer where you can compile it to see the results of your html in one project.

Re: ScratchWebs - Program your own website!

Ok, I give up on trying to do this. You pretty much cannot make any useful code without being able to control strings. You can make a project that out outputs very simple HTML but forget links and pictures.

No of course it does. You just can't manipulate strings.

Hmm. I had a bad attitude back then. I do care about HTML. Paddle, I know what HTML stands for. Do you know that Clov and I are making a REAL web browser??? Well, I am hosting it.... still, we are partners  big_smile  KannonWeb.

HTML is for beginner towards coding. It does not hve that much freedom though. PHP is more advanced. I have my website, wwww.flowbolt.com, It's very new, and I did it in html. But I'm having trouble with setting up a Database in MySql. Anyone help me?
