Ah, my Anatomy and Physiology teacher told me.

She also says that you can supposedly also dunk a heart if saltwater if the heart cells are still alive and see the heart continue to beat because of the electric current conducted by the dissociated salt water particles. My mom told me she tried that and it worked, but it was for a frog heart, and not one of a mammal.

Before I finished reading, I thought 'her mum took someone's heart???'
What a relief to read the end...In Point Blanc by Anthony Horowitz, the evil people planned to disect the main character and then his heart.
