Re: Sound not working

How are you attempting to play the sounds? The play sound block uses a different type of sound than the intrument blocks. The default meow sound is a .wav file, whereas the drum and other musical effects use Squeak's MIDI synthesizer.

It also could be that you're just not hearing the sound. The drum beat is fairly quick, so try switching to an instrument like a piano and using a longer note duration to see if you can hear that.

Re: Sound not working

The sound that I'm playing I can put in any format wav, mp3 etc..I recorded parts of a song myself and am trying to get my sprite to dance to it. To say I'm not having any luck is an understatement.  I did try using a different instrument like the piano and pressed on a key and nothing came out I changed the duration and still nothing and my speakers are turned very high. I've watched the tutorials, read the help pages. I'm not sure what else to do.

Am I to understand if you don't have Squeak's MIDI synthesizer than you will not hear the sounds? My professor said this was going to be fun, I wonder when the fun is going to start.

Re: Sound not working

According to JSO:
Probably your SW Synth volume is turned off.

Double-Click the speaker icon in the system tray (lower-right corner of your screen) and tune up the SW-Synth volume to the max.

Does that solve your problem?
