Don't you mean if the Sun was taken away? If the Earth stopped turning, the winds still would and we would be swept away (true fact)

What I mean is if the earth stopped rotating it would be day on one half and night on the other

Ah I see. But if the Earth did stop rotating, every single human being would be swept away in the atmosphere.
So I guess I would be in the sky...

Yes, a topic that makes you think
I'd stay in the middle

Hmmm... I wouldn't want to stay in either. Because the weather in the dark would be extremely cold, and the weather in the light extremely hot. I suppose, can I be one of those people who go into space?

I would stay in the light so I can see. If I got too hot, I would just turn on the air con.

If the worls stopped turning, would we still be rotating round the sun? Because that way, the light would still move, if the world just stopped moving altogether it would be far too hot on the light side, and far too cold on the dark side, meaning all 6 billion people would have to be squashed onto the very thin line between light and dark.

Okay, this is purely hypothetical, right? Because if that happened, one of three things would happen:
-If it stopped suddenly, we would all be thrown in at space at a almost two thousand kilos an hour(this is also why teleportation will always be impossible).
-One side of the earth would burn, and the other would freeze.
-Time would stop(there are some theories about this).
But anyway, I would probably stay where I am. If I fall under the dark side, I would turn on some lights and hope our house doesn't get looted in the 6 month long night.
