A mac would work fine, my mac is customized quite a bit. If you want to do graphics I will recommend Pixelmator.

Maybe. I think it would make more sense to get a linux distro (Ubuntu and Linux Mint are good), because you can get some great graphics software. For free. Though if you want to play games on it, you'll have to find out if they have a linux version, if not, you'll have to look for flash game remakes of the video game. Linux is also great for customization.
Or, you could get a (really expensive) mac. You decide
