I can't get a picture that is on the computer on a project.

Make sure it's the right format, I use .jpeg

Use PNG, it's the best. JPEG reduces the quality horribly.


I'm taking a break from Scratch until 2.0 comes out. Any messages sent between then and now probably won't be read - sorry.

Yep. JPEG compresses the image to reduce the size, but a side-effect of that is that you get artifacts in the image. PNG is lossless and thus gives a pristine representation of the original image.
