I fixed the link, it should work now.
Glad to hear that you managed to get the MIDI synth turned on again. Although I guess the problem is already resolved, I'll encourage you to take a look at the link anyway, it's pretty much our list of common problems in Scratch with the solutions on how to fix them whenever they come up.

won't happen again, ubuntu never changed my settings to turn off important things, need to get used to windows
