I'm not gonna say who, but a while ago I learned that someone made our school computers unable to make new Scratch accounts. I contacted the scratch team, but I couldn't remember the username of the banned person, and now I can't remember my email password xD
Eventually I'll ask my school again if they want to start a Scratch club, but I'm pretty sure I know the only people who will join, and they're all in my Algebra I Honors class.
Is your school/library able to make Scratch accounts?

We used to be able to get on Scratch at school, but RM Safety Filter banned it on the 'Non-educational games' list. >.> I literally swore when I couldn't get onto my account at lunch in the IT room >:L

That's the problem - if one person gets IP banned, it'll ban the rest of the school too. But the Scratch Team has no way of knowing how many people use one IP...

Nope, not anymore. Our school is also banned from the forums...

Hmm scratch works fine in my school.
Someone at his school got IP banned. On school computers, everyone shares the same IP. Therefore, it says he's banned when he goes on Scratch at school. That's why

The Scratch Team does try to avoid blocking school accounts, but when a school IP address gets abused a lot, then unfortunately the school IP gets blocked until a school administrator or teacher comes in to talk to the Scratch Team about what has been going on, or if the blocked account owner talks to the Scratch Team.
You'll actually want to have the school contact the Scratch Team about lifting the IP block in this case.

In my old school (that my brother still goes to) can't use the website as someone flagged loads of projects or something and the filter filtered it as innapropriate. It wasn't anyone in that school who got it banned, though. We used Scratch in Year (grade) 4 and they still have an old version on the computers, even though that was 2 and a bit years ago. I looked at the end of last term.
As for my knew school, I have no idea have no idea as I've only used the school computers twice so far.
