Scratch

After, about 10 minutes in scratch, every session, all text in my sprites and in the scratch program disappears. I have to visit and edit EVERY sprite to restore the text, and I have to save and restart. This is becoming regular and annoying. I am running the latest version of scratch (1.3) on Windows XP. Anyone know what is going on? Help would be appreciated.

Well 1 the latest is actually 1.3.1, but anyway I have the same version that you have, and I've had the same problem. I still wonder what the problem is...

I know, it's annoying. I was just starting a project that I thought was great, and wadda you know, the WHOLE thing goes down the drain. Does anyone know how to help us?
Oh, and I meant 1.3.1

I've seen this as well. It seems to happen for me when large amounts of text have been entered in the Project Notes or when lists get long. I have sometimes been able to recover by saving the project...that seems to straighten it out sometimes. Use the Save As feature and make up a new name so you don't clobber your last good version, if it doesn't work!

I don't know when it will be fixed. The Scratch Team is aware of it.

This problem hit me too. I just added a large number of comment and then all the text disappeared when I saved. Very scary to put a lot of work into a project and have it almost completely lost!

I use 1.3.1 on Vista and it doesn't affect me. Also I think that I never have used Scratch for 10 mins. Short attention spannnn....... OH Shiny!

Lol just kidding not that short. But I don't have many projects because of that.

I also use 1.3.1 on Vista and I have seen this problem. Mostly on larger, more complex problems. I believe the bug is related to the project size.

I also use Windows Vista (home premium) with Scratch 1.3.1

The bug always appeared when editing text - in the paint editor, and maybe also say/think boxes or comment boxes.

it also might be related to the project file size...

I had the same problem with a project that was extremely small. So the file size is out of the question.

It can't possibly be project size. It even happens on my mini-size projects!

I've Never Had This Happen To Me. (On Micro. Windows XP) But I Always Notice That The Paint Editor Is Really Kinda Slow or It just Laggs.

Some Random Idea: Someone First Changed Scratch and Messed It Up. Then they hacked into site then changed the download to the messed up version.

i got that problem too only everything goes haywire and some buttons are in different places and the Minimize Mazimize and Close buttons hide too. It happened in Color Draw v.1.1

I've also just got the same problem. If this helps anyone, once the bug has occured, all text vanishes including the ones in the boxes. And once you're in the editor with the text, the font list goes back to the one in previous scratch versions so it must be a programming error. The text doesn't show because the font doesn't exist in the older versions.

This Is Scaring Me I Havn't Had This Happen To Me Yet.. Hmm.. So Ten Minutes In Scratch..Then It Occers...I Have It "On" For More Than 30 Minutes. But It's Mostly Minimized...

That problem happened to me, too. It was very annoying, but everything only disappeared once. You know how to fix it, though, right? Well, for me, I just wen't back to each individual costume, (like go back to edit it), and it should appear. Then just get out of the editing window and do that for EVERY SINGLE COSTUME you have. It was very annoying. I posted a forum on that, too.

OS: Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (Odd, never had Home Edition SP3. Every OS of Windows I have is like SP2)

Scratch: 1.3.1

Time Scratch is on: Like 3 hours.

Does this happen: Well, only once.

That is what I did. So does my cousin, only his laptop is SO JUNKY! 3 years old, he dropped it like 10 times, still works. Wow.

That sometimes happens to me too. I have to close down Scratch and start it up again! And yet, I'm running Scratch 1.3.1 on Windows Vista!
