I like to get the things which have taken so much effort to make but in the end never got enough views to be popular

I wouldn't just put my friends projects up I would go for anybody's girl, boy, 'famous', moderator, whoever as long as it seems worthy of the front page, I prefer games myself, like tactical games or challenging ones but I would put up other things like funny animations, http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/AlinJack5671/1964169 , cool stories, http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Astro947/1814980 and other things like that. I would also like this opportunity because the only time I have been involved with the front page is in the 'newest projects' section so this will be a kick-start in my scratch life. this would also get me more involved with scratch itself other than posting projects and comments. I am working on a project called 'mouse trap' where you make a maze for a mouse and it will have traps on it so you can get rid of the mouse before it gets back to its hole with the cheese it stole.
Well, I know that New Scratchers aren't picked for curators, but what's the case on this? He's been on the main site for almost an year, isn't that even better than being on the forums for an year (In this case)?
Yes, it's the length of time on the main site that matters. So if a long time Scratcher just signed onto the forums recently, and is still a New Scratcher, they'll still be eligible.

That's good-People that are on the main site more would probably be even better curators, because instead of posting spam they'd be looking (at) and making projects.

I'd like to be a curator .
I wouldn't pick projects from someone like Astro947 or Jonzo, I would pick projects from unknown scratchers so everybody gets a chance at fame
For instance: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/dancing … ll/2011100

Right... MIT is going to give out viruses...
But 1) you need to take your problem somewhere else. it doesn't belong here.
2) You did not get a virus from scratch.
Correct. How can you get a virus from Scratch, of all places?

First of all, this problem does not belong on this forum. Please contact the makers of the computer with a virus problem.
Secondly, a Scratch virus would quickly infect all projects and pages, so everywhere Scratch pages would be virus-riddled.
Please contact the computer manufacturers.

Hi, I'm NeilWest and I'd love to become a curator for Scratch!
I've been on Scratch for a year and a half now. I've seen many, many good projects like wwjd3's 1s 1s 3D Object Rotation! My last past attempts haven't gone well, due to angry comments I've decided not to show visual examples. I'll choose mostly games, full ones. At times, I will choose pen projects that have taken a long, long time. Really, I just would like to show that Scratch has another side thats not animation and basic, overrated projects. Instead, I'd like to show projects that took a long time! Take Rahi-Tak's Chobo Advance. A improved version of eRKSTock's Chobo that recieved 1839 views and alot of praise, which was deserved. Rahi-Tak added scrolling, shortened it down to 2 sprites and 9 scripts and improved graphics. When the Scratch Team opened the remixing system, they knew it would be good for something. Theres also cozyhut3's Gizmos! This fun game is based around Gizmos like trampolines and such. Last but not least is Rurigok's Cheeseland. This is one of the great platformers of 2008 that were good, then forgotten. Sure, it had a few glitches but this is a great follow-up to Nitrome's Cheese Dreams! I have to say, I'd love to be a curator, and I'd love to show some games to the Scratch public.
NeilWest is not responsible to any angry replies or flame wars which are because of this post. After my recent posts on this topic, I'm taking this precaution.

New Scratchers aren't trusted with becoming a curator, try again when you are a "Scratcher"
If you have been active on the main site, yes they are.

Hey can I try for curator? I already picked the projects I would curate if I was a curator

To the New Scratchers above: You can't get picked unless you've been for a couple of months on the main site. Are you new to Scratch or just new to the forums?

You should add a link to this awesome guide in the topic post.

I would like to apply to be a curator. I have viewed a lot of projects and leave constrictive critism, and I have helped as much as I can. I would like to be a curator because I would love to help promote projects. I like projects based on graphic, animation and music, for example, here are some good ones:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/08jackt/1664101 - Graphics are great here!
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/cheddargirl/700276 - I know I'm not supposed to choose Scratch Team's projects, but this is just an example, and cheddargirl has some really good animation ones!
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/r2d2upgrade/1579350 - Great animation, graphics and inspiration!

Hmm... A curator seems like a big responsibility. I have now been on Scratch for I think about two years now. I was around when the curating began (Though I did not have an account). Since then I have wanted to be a curator, though that doesn't sound much different then the other one-thousand applicants. I realize that the Scratch Team want's a curator that will choose projects the community would appreciate. I believe that right now people want good animations, and games based on what I have seen. I will not choose projects now, but rather stage a contest where people can enter their animations, and I might choose them. I don't know if this is the way the Scratch Team would like me to do it. And I can change the way I select projects. There would be rules to entering the contest, like, you must have had an account for a month, the projects must have less than 100 views, etc. Now let's get to the checklist.
On often: | X
Knows the Scratch community well | X
Has had an account for a year | X
Never been banned | X
I believe that I check out. Also, I have been curated. So I know how I would want it done. If there is anything I have missed please inform me. Also, the Scratch Team wants a wide variety of Scratchers. They want gamers, storytellers, animators, boys, and girls. I am a slight gamer, but a great member in the community.
