Hi, i'm PokemonGardevoir. I have been scratching for 2 years now and hope to someday join the scratch team.
I would like to welcome all of you to scratch! This site is all about a wonderful programming language developed by MIT. Scratch is fun for all ages, and I'm sure you will have a great time as part of our community.
Here are some basic questions and answers that many scratchers ask when they join.
Q: How do I upload a project?
A: Uploading your first project can be nerve-wracking. Sometimes you're not sure if it is good enough, or your scare no one will love it. But you don't need to worry! I've seen plenty of newcomers come up with great ideas, animations and games! So, here's how to upload in 5 easy steps:
1- Create a project!
2- Click on 'Share Your Project'!
3- Type in your username and password, and give your project a title.
4- Add notes about your project and give it tags.
5- Hit submit, and look for your project!
Q: What is the front page and what goes on there?
A: Once you login, you can see the first section of the front page where three randomly picked latest projects will show up.
Below that are featured projects. These are usually made by experienced scratchers and are very elaborate.
Further down is projects selected by a curator. These are similar to featured projects.
And finally below that is the Top Viewed, Top Remixed and Top Loved. These are projects that are currently popular with the community.
Q: How do I create a gallery?
A: When you go to your user page, down where a user's galleries are shown, there should be a link to create one. There you will be asked to give your gallery a name and give a description. To add your projects, go to your gallery. Click on the 'Add My Projects' button. Then a checklist will pop up and you can select the projects you want to add.
If you need any help with anything, just ask! Have a great time scratching!

This is a really great intro! Do you mind if people on the Scratch Helper team link new Scratchers to this page?

its so nice that people dedicate themselves so much to a such a neat project as to make an easy programming language.
Because lets all agree that C++ is just hard.

I've seen many good designs such as mario luigi elmo (lol) etc. But I am not sure whether they uploaded that image from a different website or drew it. So can you upload images from other websites on to a Scratch 'Make a Sprite' screen or you can't?

Good question! You can! Find a picture you want. then, save that picture.
Now, open scratch.
To upload the picture now, click import sprite, find your image in your file, and then hit ok!
To upload it onto a make a sprite screen, open the screen. then, hit the Import button (above the undo button) and find the image in your files. Hit ok, and you're done!
Hope i helped!

this is cool, though i don't want to upload projects (mine are too basic compared to other scratchers' projects).
Don't worry about what other people will think! If you upload your projects, people can give you feedback on how to improve what you make!
When I was starting out, I felt the same way. It helps if you set a project goal, then upload that project when you're done. Along the way, get help on the forums, and get new ideas by posting drafts online! I learned a lot by doing that.

Thanks for the tips, but my friend ProgrammingPro01 helped me the other day. he showed me the website, and how to upload a project. So i'm all set now!
I plan to be as good as him someday.

Scratch made your life worth living? O_o
You'll be going to MIT for college, I assume?
Well, that's you now. I thought I wanted to work with computers. Now I love computers, but I'll work with other stuff.
And nice post ;D

Either MIT or Binghamton. Yeah, i had a period of suicidal maniac depression-ishness. When i would have attempted suicide there were a few things that made me not sure if i should end my life. Scratch was one of them because I LOVE IT HERE!
