I hate them. However, with my luck, I landed in the class with the most gossipy idiots imaginable. This week, the wheel apparantly landed on my name. So I befriended the new girl in my class, I was being nice. Now everywhere I go, people wolf whistle, flutter their eyes and mock me, because some idiot told everyone that me and the new girl are going out.
At least its the last year of middle school.

Shame. Usually when something like that happens I start blushing and swearing mildly.

Good thing that doesn't happen to me. I don't go to public school (that's more funny than you think it is
). I don't really know what I'd do in that situation, since it's never happened to me.
But anyway, I hope things get better for you.
Do you know who started the rumour?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was started by this guy in my class, John. He's always been a miserable gossip.

How you talked to him about it?

That happened yesterday with this boy in my class, he chose to sit by me in History and we got chatting about nerdy stuff... and next thing I know everyone's surrounding us saying 'YOU 2 SHOULD LIEK TOTES GO OUT!' >.>
Then someone said 'Wait, you're still going out with Spratty?' (That's my bf's nickname)
I said yes, and everyone yelled it and went 'AWWWWW! SWEET' in a mocking way.
Then they started asking if I've done all sorts of weird stuff with him O.o
...WELCOME TO PUBLIC SCHOOL IN SCENIC ENGLAND, MERE MORTALS

Yep. Mockery is bad but with an accent from Ireland or Britian, its 10 times worse.

oh gosh, I have never been caught in a rumour before since I don't really do anything but learn (believe me, I have SEEN some rumours though, but didn't believe them) but all I have to say is that once they find something more interesting, it'll stop
rumours only last about a week ^^

Being silent seems to be a wise move. But yeah, now to endure the rest of the week without hitting someone.
Well, this'll be hard.

Its so annoying, and I can't do anything about it.
And thanks about the sig, I'm planning on changing the background colour to match the forums.

Ask him politely if he was the one who started the rumour.

In my school romours don't happen (At least I think they don't - You never know what those biggies get up to!) If something like that happens, it lasts for 2 seconds, maybe 3, and they grows wings and flys away!
I feel sort of guilty listening to your rumours

Somebody tried to start one about me
but I stopped it because the person who kind of accidentally betrayed me last year told me
we're good friends now
I just can't tell her any of my secrets

Laugh at the them behind their backs. That doesn't mean laugh them off! Laugh at how pathetic the must be. If that doesn't work, laugh at them in front of their backs. Turn the rumour against them. They're probably sensitive and insecure about themselves. Use their weakness to ruin them! Beside, having a girlfriend isn't the worst thing in the world

Is she cute? Because if she was, and people were saying that we were going out, I'd just be like:
AWWWWWWWW
YEEEEEAAAAAAH.

Yeah she's cute, and I kind of like her, and was planning to ask her out at some point.
But the fact that I get wolf whistled around every corner makes me wonder if I want to go through that.

I'm 14, you'd think at this age that people would mature a bit.
