Personally, though, I don't really care about it.  I'm a tomboy and wear boy's clothes, and don't care about what others think of me.  My advice is to ignore them.  In the long run it won't really matter, I think.

You're a girl???????????????

I always thought you were a guy

ANYWAYS, I HATE IT TOO.

Most people dont care because i'm just so "haters gonna hate" no body cares

I'm also a bit of a tomgirl (i mean MLP:FIM and Shugo Chara!)

Yep.  But I have really short hair and wear boy's clothes so I sometimes get mistaken for a boy.  tongue
My advice to all other kids is to not bother with it.  Be who you are and don't wordy what others think of you.

You're a GIRL?! EWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Cooties!

JK. I'm in one of those weird groups where everyone is COMPLETELY different, but gets along fine.

Usually I just irritate the crab out of anyone popular (especially the popular AND older ones). I have a really bad feeling this is going to really hurt me in the future, but who cares. Maybe their suffering with teach them something.

So, because they are popular it means that they aren't nice? Seriously? And, because you intentionally irritate someone, just because of their "school status," doesn't that make you the one who isn't nice? Why yes, I think it would.

Don't worry, they aren't nice. Actually, one of them was recently suspended for writing something that will not be repeated in the bathroom.

Besides, my tactic of irritation is actually not the usual irritation method. Usually I just complement them and talk about optimism and whatnot. I don't know why, but this gets to them, ESPECIALLY high school kids.

Re: I'm sick of this hierarchy ranking system.

Interesting, nothing like that in my school.  Sure there is the "What?! you don't have a phone yet?!" but that doesn't mean you are excluded from a social group.

I coexist in two groups that... well, don't exactly view each other positively.  Just Friday I had to choose between the groups for a project.  When I chose one, the others didn't treat me differently, they just shrugged it off.  It's about finding people that you like and who like you despite your "faults".  Sounds cheesy, but it's true.

I have seen this problem all over the world. In South Korea, everyone needs to have a designer handbag (this is just an example), and the ones that are bestselling, by Hermes and Chanel, cost over $10000 in US money! It's just ridiculous! People shouldn't be judged by what they own. This seems especially true in developing countries.

As for some advice, try not to seem embarrassed by the fact you don't have a phone (I don't!) It helps, trust me.

Why not save up for one, but that's only if you need one. Don't buy one just to fit in with the crowd. This is what the big brands want you to do. They want you to buy an smartphone. They want you to buy their products. They want you to follow the crowd. Unless it's necessary, don't.

Why not show them what you're capable of, and that you don't need a smartphone to be "cool".

I hope that helps.  smile

EDIT Why does everyone have US flag sigs? Something to do with 9/11?  tongue

I can't have a phone til I'm 16, and I don't care. I've seen people texting each other in the same room.... it's sort of sad

My school doesn't have that mostly because there are only 50 people in the school.

I'm sick of this, because I don't even have a regular mobile phone as I can walk back home if I'm late.

Thoughts?

Nobody really seems to bug me about that kind of stuff-- except one kid who tells everybody that they get their clothes from Goodwill...

Re: I'm sick of this hierarchy ranking system.

Though it ticks me when people ignore you for the clothes you wear and what you have, they actually have reason to think I'm a geek besides these other factors  tongue

1. I am always randomly quoting Harry Potter
2. AND Doctor Who
3. AND, sometimes, 'Still Alive'
4. AND Saturday Night Live's "Maraka" (Dora Spoof) because I can do the voice PERFECTLY. It's funny. During PE, I like to say, "Harder! Harder! Come on, what's wrong with you?"
5. I wore a Scratch t-shirt today (I s'pose this is tied in with the whole clothes thing but it's worth mentioning).
6. I correct other people's grammar sometimes.
8. When people say inappropriate words, I say in a high-pitched voice, "Now, children, keep it G rated."
9. My annoying logic. Example: Some kid said during PE (in which everything happens), "100 bucks that I could knock you out!" to some other kid. Me: "Where are you getting this hundred bucks? I don't think he'll give you a hundred bucks for knocking him out..." Him: "I got a hundred dollars." Me: "So you're like, going to pay yourself this money?"

I'm lucky I'm not in your school. I would probably mix the grammar thing in with this an say:"Excuse me, "knock you out" is neither a phrasal verb nor a complete sentence, as you forgot to add the object. Please rephrase your sentence to "knock you unconscious or I will beat you.""

Today, I got this hilarious little quote.

Guy 1:I wish you would disappear.
Me:Why?
Guy 1:So my life would be less annoying
Me:And less interesting...
Friend 1:True, true.
