My mom made me watch a video yesterday. Although it was real sad, I saw footage of the planes crashing into the towers, and the towers collapsing, and it was so EPIC!!!

Two friends of my family were crushed when the South Tower collapsed. I don't find it very epic.

The issue of insensitivity was resolved a while back (see here), please don't recontinue the flame war.

Originally they thought it was an accident that the North Tower was hit; they didn't expect terrorists.

I hear that there making another tower LARGER than the original.
Without being offensive, I don't think they learnt their mistake very well.

Yeah. Dad said when the second plane hit, that was when he realized it wasn't an accident and got us the heck out of there.

No, they made a waterfall cool monument there.

Do you mean Freedom Tower? Because that's different.

Freedom Tower is supposed to replace 1 WTC though... Just because it's not at "Ground Zero" doesn't mean it's not in place of the old ones.

... Why is it being built? Demand? Monument? Why?

it can't really "be engineered better", the twin towers had steel beams, but that didn't stop it from crashing down

I saw a video of one of the jumpers in a documentry. When he hit the ground, it made a huge noise. Not like bones crunching, but just a really loud THUD.

That's what the firefighters said in one that I saw. They knew another life was gone whenever they heard a loud thump.  sad

Also, they wondered how bad it had to be up there for those people to consider jumping to be their best choice...
