Remembering 9/11

I wanted to post this today, because I didn't want it to be just one of the many topics posted about it.

Many people remember 9/11 with mainly 2 emotions: sadness and anger.  Where we are justified in both, our actions and thoughts following them have not been honorable.  It is true that we should be sad for the lives lost that day, but we must also look forward, seeing how this was done to tear down America, and all it has done is strengthen us.  Anger is also justified, in that it was murder and it should not go unforgiven.  However, we have taken our anger too far.

Today, many Americans think of Muslims as all being radical, wishing the death of America.  THIS IS NOT TRUE.  Most Muslims do not support the actions that were taken on that day, but we stereotype them so it looks as though they do.  I watched a video the other day about a Muslim woman who remembers her 9/11 experience.  She said when she heard the radio announcing the horrific event, she thought, "God, please let it not be Muslims."  9/11 may have made life difficult for Americans, but it has made it much more difficult for Muslims living in America.  They are often picked out at airport security, sometimes disrespected in public and ultimately looked down upon.

I would encourage you all to remember this on 9/11.  Thank you.

Yeah why do they treat muslims so bad? sad  (My friend is muslim) This did help us get together as a country though.

I don't remember anything about it (I was alove during when it happened, but i was only a baby) but I did see footage of it when i was 8 and it was so sad and I was thinking "why would people do things like that???" Yes, it was very sad.

That's not exactly respectful of those who lost their lives because of that crash...sure it was an awesome sight (the literal meaning of awesome, not how we use it usually), it was also terrible.

I went to the World Trade Center a year before 9/11. Of course, I don't remember it though :p

The problem is little kids like you who think everything is a joke. If their plan did come true, we would all be dead or in hiding including you.

You need parental supervision or someone watching over you every minute making sure you don't say something like that.

R.I.P to all those innocent people who lost their lives that day </3 ):

Even watching the anniversary right now on the news makes me want to cry all those lives lost and the poor families.. I was only 4 at the time but I still remember sitting in my sitting room watching it not understanding it, but I understood enough to know it was a very very sad day.. ): </3 R.I.P

That is extremely disrespectful to all the people who lost their lives in 9/11. 9/11 is not something funny, or epic. It's a very sad time for thousands of familys who have lost their loved ones. Please, grow up.
