A circle.  The last bit only refers to the center tree.  So it's a circle.

I also said 5 rows of 4 trees. Not 1 row of 20 trees.

I'll give you a riddle.

You are in a labrynith. Three doors face you. Two lead to death, and one leads to freedom. You choose a random door. Your friend chooses another door, and opens it. Spikes fly out and kill him. Well, that's one door down. But the question is, should you switch your choice to the other door?

[EDIT:Soree Modee!]

I have heard that one before so yes, according to some mathematcial explanation that I can't remember.  tongue

Re: I am in a box... With a mirror and table... How do I get out?

A valuable painting was stolen from the Liars' Club, but the police are having a hard time identifying the culprit because every statement made by a member of the Liars' Club is false. Only four members visited the club on the day that the painting was stolen. This is what they told the police:

* Ann: None of us took the painting. The painting was here when I left.
* Bob: I arrived second. The painting was already gone.
* Chuck: I was the third to arrive. The painting was here when I arrived.
* Tom: Whoever stole the painting arrived before me. The painting was already gone.

Who of these four liars stole the painting?

I have one:
You are standing at the entrances to two different tunnels.  One leads to Death, the other to Life.  Each tunnel is guarded by a guard.  One guard always tells the truth. The other always lies.  Once you enter a tunnel, there is no going back.  You can ask one of the guards one question, and one question only.
What do you ask?

I don't want any more visitors D:  tongue
The answer is: Ask any of them: Answer me as the other guard; which way do I need to go?
That way, let's say I need to go right. If the one I asked was the lying guard, he'd still lie, not acting as the other guard, so he'd tell me left. If I was asking the truthful one, he'd say go left, as he would act as the lying guard, saying a lie. Then just take the opposite way than the one the guard told you.

And to kimmy's, I'm guessing Bob, as he said it wasn't there, while the next one said it was, and the one before said it was.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't read that everyone was lying. I'm guessing none, then, as she said it was already there, and she was lying, meaning it wasn't.

Did you look that up?  Yep, right answer.

There are SO many answers to that.  I've already posted a few, but a few more are: "*snaps fingers* Did I just snap my fingers?"

"Have I ever had a thought?"

However, those answers won't tell you which door leads to life and which leads to death, only what guard lies and which tells the truth.  The truth guard doesn't necessarily guard the life door, or vice versa.

Good point.  But maybe death is paradise.  And maybe the guards don't know.

You look in the mirrior, see what you saw, take the saw, cut the table in half and two halves make a whole. Climb out the hole.

I never understood this riddle. You are seeing what you saw in a mirror, technically, as the signals arrive to your brain less than a second later, but how do you pull a saw from nowhere because of that? The table was a whole table before you uselessly cut it in half. Besides, 'whole' and 'hole' have totally different meanings...

No.  It's a 50/50 chance, what will changing your decision do for you?  Nothing.

This begs to differ. So does Marilyn vos Savant.

However! Let me explain it to you in laymen's terms.

First, speedy thing goes in. Second, speedy thing goes out. Third, I actually start to explain it.

Alright, here we go.

When you first chose the door, the chances of getting "life" is 1/3. When your friend revealed that a door is death(which means we ignore that door from then on), your chances of getting "life" becomes 1/2. Obviously, 1/2 is larger than 1/3, thus it's better to switch.

However, another group of support believes that we should ignore the revealed death door from the start, thus the chances FROM THE START were still 1/2.

This makes another probability problem. If we assume both groups of support have equal chances to be correct, then if you switch, there's a 1/2 chance you'll have make the decision that improves your chances. If you don't, both sides agree that your chances will stay the same.

This means that overall, it's more beneficial to switch, whether you believe in the first or second group.

How is it better?  You don't know which of the 1/2 half chance doors leads to life and which to death.  You have a 50% chance of being correct, no matter which door you choose.

Even if you want to argue that way, you would notice that whether you switch or not, you would get 1/2 chance. So why not switch, on the off chance that my theory is correct? It won't hurt you, since you have 1/2 chance anyway.

I see no unanswered riddle, so...
A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?
