You are in a labrynith. Three doors face you. Two lead to death, and one leads to freedom. You choose a random door. Your friend chooses another door, and opens it. Spikes fly out and kill him. Well, that's one door down. But the question is, should you switch your choice to the other door?

However! Let me explain it to you in laymen's terms.

First, speedy thing goes in. Second, speedy thing goes out. Third, I actually start to explain it.

Alright, here we go.

When you first chose the door, the chances of getting "life" is 1/3. When your friend revealed that a door is death(which means we ignore that door from then on), your chances of getting "life" becomes 1/2. Obviously, 1/2 is larger than 1/3, thus it's better to switch.

However, another group of support believes that we should ignore the revealed death door from the start, thus the chances FROM THE START were still 1/2.

This makes another probability problem. If we assume both groups of support have equal chances to be correct, then if you switch, there's a 1/2 chance you'll have make the decision that improves your chances. If you don't, both sides agree that your chances will stay the same.

This means that overall, it's more beneficial to switch, whether you believe in the first or second group.

How is it better?  You don't know which of the 1/2 half chance doors leads to life and which to death.  You have a 50% chance of being correct, no matter which door you choose.

A circle.  The last bit only refers to the center tree.  So it's a circle.
