This should explain it all

Projects get removed from the front page around a week after their upload date. I don't think there should be a view limit simply because the same people keep getting on the front page; this wouldn't really help the issue either.
If you want to prevent the same people from getting on the front page, then just make a time-out period between front-paged projects by the same user. Simple.
And if someone abuses this by making alt. accounts, then that's considered 'gaming the community', and the ST can take action against said user.
Another solution to help new talent get recognized is to have a top-viewed or top-loved section only for people who have never had a top-viewed or top-loved project.
The bottom line: there are better ways to stop the same users from getting on the front page over and over.

It's ten days. I like the idea of top-loved-for-never-top-loved-before-users idea though.

1.) I meant frontpage, but the limit stopped at fro. xD
And I think that there should be one month between frontpages for someone, and the project that gets frontpaged only is there until 500 views. It'd be a lot better.
And gaming the community isn't a problem-Someone that makes an alt account wouldn´t be famous on the alt account, but even if he gets famous off saying he's a famous scratcher with the alt account, the ST would ban their alt account. It´s not permitted (Though I think test accounts are okay...)

Some projects may have to hit over 500 views to get front paged though...

Well, if they have over 500 views, they shouldn't get front paged, as they already have so many views xD
And actually, it wouldn't need 500 views, if only ones with 500 views or less would be there. I don't really see much of a downside-It'd balance the frontpage a lot.
And on top of that, I think that there should be a one-month limit for Scratchers to be frontpaged, that way if a famous Scratcher made projects everyday, it wouldn't be clogged with his projects. It's 10 days now, right?

It would get things moving... and allow for new projects to be shown, how about combine this and the one where top viewed projects are picked at random from the top 10/20. thus showing even more projects.
