Scratch website revamp ideas
I think that the scratch website could be better. Not that it isn't good now, but there are some things that can be improved upon. I think we should post our ideas so that when the new version of scratch comes out, they might be able to update the website. I will organize the ideas into some different parts, to make it more organized. The front page, the user page, the forums, and the..um..general website. They will be in green because I like green. I have already added a few of my own ideas.

The Front Page
•A 'What the community is favoriting' section

The user page
• Instead of just my favourites, and my projects, people should be able to make 'tabs' to organize their projects, galleries, etc. (I will create a mock-up sometime) Tabs would include 'My games', 'My animations' 'etc.'
•Statuses: Allows you to make a status where you can choose a project name, status of the project (wip etc.) and estimated finish date. Also could have a status of 'away' or 'welcome' to show other users whether they will be working on their projects. (mock-up will also be made)
•Subscribe button: By using the tabs as mentioned before, there should be a subscribe button, and a private tab that you can access where projects by users you have subscribed to go.
•A system that sends you a message every time someone/you gets your password wrong. That way you would know if someone is trying to hack your account. The messages would stop at 6 (in a row) to avoid 'scaring the living daylights' out of the user.

The forums
•A seperate messaging system for the forums, where it will message you when your post has been quoted.
•It being optional to see signatures.
• Different 'themes' other than blue and grey

I think status is a great idea. A user can change their status that shows all users that see their page (not in forums). They could say "Out of town" or "Busy" or "Welcome!".

Oh, and I do believe that the Scratch Team is working on customizable user pages. I'm not sure how much it will be like your idea, but they do have something like that in mind.

o_o really. I would have done that a long time ago if it would get rid of all those pony pictures.
On the Forum homepage, click on "Profile" then on the side click "Display." There is an option there to disable signatures.

status messages on scratch.
with these, would come the busy, available, and idle things. idle would mean you havent been active for a while (if u have gmail, u know this)
