As most of you may know, I'm DIY, the creator of the Harry Potter videogame series on Scratch. You may recall Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - The Video Game, which was quite popular around the time of the film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2's release. Now, when I try to upload a project regarding my next Harry Potter videogame (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - The Video Game), a message saying "Failed: Unknown reason" keeps coming, despite my constant efforts to share it online. This is the same computer I released Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - The Video Game from (that was 9000+kb which is about 9MB) and I know it is nothing to do with the limitation of space that a project can have on Scratch, 10MB (10240kb) because this project itself is roughly 7000kb. Furthermore, when I uploaded another different project to experiment whether this was a bug in the project or with the response of the Scratch website, the other project got uploaded. Any explanations for this anyone?

Check your interent connection is working and that the file isn't over 10MB, then upload on a different computer. I encountered the same problem with this project. I had to delete 2 music files and a sound effect to get it working.

Perhaps you should either wait or try uploading from a different machine. You're saying that the project is quite large, that might be the cause of the problem. Although 7MB is not over the limit, the limit is only there because of the online player limitations and not because of server limitations. So, I don't think it's guaranteed that size-related problems will start to occur when approaching 10MB.

Thanks. I'll try uploading it from another machine. By the way, I've uploaded 9MB projects like my Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire videogame and nothing like this has happened.

The file is only 7MB and anyway I have uploaded the Goblet of Fire with no problem on this machine. My Internet connection is perfect. Anyway, I'll try uploading on another computer. Thanks.

Maybe there are odd characters in your password (such as Alt + Numpad characters?) that Scratch doesn`t recognize. That happened to me once xD

Thanks, but there is nothing like that in my password.

Large projects (especially ones with a lot of compressible material like music and images) are more likely to encounter uploading errors than smaller projects, even more so when the site is encountering a lot of traffic or is undergoing updates, etc.
Chances are that you'll probably have to attempt uploading several times in order to get it up. You'll probably have better luck uploading it during a time when most users are offline and not too active.

I'd suggest DIY, as you're british like me, post around lunch time as a large quantity of Scratcher users would be American and to them, it'd be around 1am to them, thats when I post on weekends!

Thanks, but I have already tried uploading 20+ times. Any other explanations and I'd be grateful

I've tried uploading even during the midnight hours in the USA, but it still won't work

There's still a lot of activity during midnight. Most activity dies down at around 2 am Scratch Time.

I've tried that too. Nothing seems to work. Do you think it has got something to with some of the scripting in the project?

Hmm, well if all else fails - then click Contact Us at the bottom of the screen and tell them the following things:
-What the problem is. (in detail)
-How large your project is.
-What you've done.
-The advice you have.
-And a picture showing what has happened.
