The Sims 3 for scratch

Yeah I know there are tons of The Sims out there, but there aren't any good ones! Really you should have creating you're sim, pick you're house etc. I just got the Sims 3 for the Xbox (really fun) and it's NOTHING like the games on scratch, so please work hard to make a good one!  cool

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

I have the Sims 3 for the computer, and I have to agree it is very fun. But it would just be too hard to create it on Scratch unless if it was made very basic, taking away a lot of the fun. Perhaps if rather than the entire game, one could make sections such as the Create a Sim and the Build/Buy Mode. That would be an easier and more possible task.  smile
Nice idea!

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

I only have two of the sims games, Bustin Out for gamecube and The Sims 3 for ds (not that exciting let me tell you). It would be so awesome if someone made a game on scratch. My dream would come true!!!

Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say. I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way.

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

This project could work if you had one of the best progammers helping you... Maybe Archamage (probly wouldn't help a new scratcher) or... well... that's the only person who does collabs and has that kind of experience.

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

I imagine a game like the sims would be hard to program using Scratch, for a 3D game, you'd have to use Alice. But otherwise, great idea! I love the Sims games!  big_smile

I'd love to see something like the Urbz. But the graphics would be awful, you can imagine!!

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

It probably wouldn't be possible. The game is WAY too complex to put in Scratch format, even though it would be awesome. The creators of Sims spent YEARS to get such good graphics and complexity.

Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?

And if it was made, it would be so... simple. The beauty of Sims 3 is the complexity.

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

I think we'd need a superscratch to make a game of that caliber.

I'll be willing to try a sims 3 game, if everyone trusts my work. (Ignore my failed TaxiTimeTycoon but look at my FreeCity Designer) http://pantherprogramming.weebly.com/uploaded-projects.html

I've made a test for the sims. Remember: its a test, not a demo of the actual game! http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Borrego6165/2014576

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

Anyone have GIMP? I do and I think you can take a picture from a game and put it on GIMP. Then transfer the picture from GIMP to Scratch.
