I think that it is unfair that only famous scratchers get front paged. If you read the forum in "All About scratch" You will find out about this topic. I have a 2 new projects called "Nyan Cats" and "Diver World", and were they front paged for most recent? NO THEY WERE NOT!! We have to start being fair here.

I agree. People like Spritemaster and JJROCKER are on the page all the time!
But the newest projects is randomized. Just because you didnt see your project doesn't mean everyone else didnt.

This must be the millionth topic like this.
And I never saw JJRocker on the front page.
Anyways, topics like this aren't going to change anything-Give a suggestion of how to make it fairer.

They only get famous because they made it to the front page.

My suggestion is that in the next version of scratch should give you the option to get front paged for a new project, BUT: only 10 projects of your can get front paged. This puts a limit on how many times famous people get on the front page, and how less famous scratchers can get on the front page. Also, your project should stay on the front page for more than like 3 minutes, because every time I refresh my page, new projects are on the front page.

That wouldn't work people would make billions of accounts. Also, when someone put up a project on the front page, then they would be knocked off almost instantly. I disagree.

I Think there is a limit of how many accounts you are aloud because If I could make billions of accounts I would make them and make a random project like a dot in the middle of the screen and post it then love it with all my accounts and In one minute I would get front page for nothing... Right... do you get my point?

Actually, that is against the Community Guidelines, (gaming the community) and you'd probably get (IP) banned for doing that.

Actually, they already improved that.
The newest projects section will show a random three selection of the newest project in the past (I think) 5 minutes. So if you keep refreshing you'll probably see your newest project again.
So that doesn't need improvement...

Nah, I disagree. The projects in the Featured and Scratch Design Studio sections of the home page are selected by the Scratch Team and tend to be advanced projects. As for the newest projects, that is constantly changing and the "What the community is viewing" all depends on you.

Scratch Design Studio is basically what people make, which usually ranges from advanced projects with thought put into them to random stuff. More leaning towards the random stuff though.

Actually, I believe it's 1 hour. Maybe more.

obviously this kind of thing will never be fair. Obvious is obvious. We will never be able to fairly select good projects and put them on the front page enough for people to see them, thats exactly how youtube works. or any other site that has uploaded user content. You have to REALLY get LUCKY. that's the only way to make it to the front page. take Spidey 2000 for example, he was so utterly lucky that his project "Projector" (Don't remember exactly), which was basically just one script that made a projector flick on and off rapidly, was featured. So in the end it doesn't matter how good you are, only how many clovers you collected at spring.
I don't see why people still try to get to the front page; for me I'm just trying to get views and I'm barely getting those.

I agree, tons of random stuff. I know because I see most of it to add it.

Well, I agree and disagree. It is true that famous scratchers get on the topped viewed and topped loved and topped remixed a lot, but its what the community is doing. You can't change what 200 users are doing, and yeah. And the featured and SDS section don't get famous users. they get all sorts of projects!

I imagine that you could try to become famous yourself, then overtake other users on the front page But, I don`t think getting front paged is really important.

Yeah, if they could put a limit on how many you could have, that would work
It would but It would not work that well because if you limit the number of projects tuns of people will get front page then there will be no front page because no one can get front paged any more :p .
