I received the following message:

"Warning! Squeak is almost out of memory
Low space detection is now disables. It will be restored when you close or proceed from this error notifier. Don´t panic but proceed with caution"

What does this mean?

After this message appears the aplication Scratch freezes and i have to close it by the administrator

Try searching for Squeak is low on memory under the forums category and see if any of the other topics help. smile

maybe you need to restart your computer that usually works for me if any glitches (such as a writing glitch) starts to annoy me. but then again that might not be it

I tried restarting and closing all other windows. It is still happening.

Scratch is based on an underlying programming language called Squeak. That error means there isn't enough [RAM] memory on the computer to run Scratch.

You'll need to free some memory on the computer to avoid this problem. One way to avoid the error from happening is by not running other applications in the background (especially heavy ones that eat up a lot of RAM) or by not using very long scripts or very large images/music in Scratch. billyedward provides some additional tips in this thread on how to increase RAM on the computer, and this wiki page gives some info about modifying CPU usage on Scratch (although I wouldn't recommend it).
