I don't mean telling people about projects, I mean like telling what's up about them.

Well, Scratch is meant to be an educational tool, not a social networking site... If you wanted news feed and stuff, try twitter or the actual facebook instead of suggesting to make an educational site like facebook...

I think this sums it up pretty well. The Scratch Team is looking at user-configurable profiles, so we'll see what they come up with, but I think something like this would make Scratch too much like a social network, which isn't the point.
