What about a feature in the Scratch paint editor that would allow you to to "Screen clip" or take a screenshot of either part of a window or the desktop.
This feature could come in handy in many ways but as an example, a project showing a user how to do something on the Scratch website. It would take out the middle program which is Powerpoint for me. I have to take the screenshot in powerpoint and save it and then open it in Scratch.

If you have a mac, then you can already do this!
And Scratch can’t interact with other things such as powerpoint. It just doesn’t work.

Just take a screenshot with the Print Screen/ Prt Sc button and paste into Paint, then import into Scratch. (Or if you have Windows Vista/7, you can use the snipping tool.) Much simpler than using Powerpoint. ^_^

But adding this feature would eliminate the third party program!

But it's really not needed...
We already have the screenshot feature on most computers, and by adding this, it would only help a little group of people... The universal screenshot feature will work on all programs, not just scratch, so it's better than making one for scratch cause most people will end up downloading probably.
