Hi, i was looking at the top viewed project And it had 466 views!!!! that really is alot of views for any scratcher "Famous" or not. and when the views or love-its are That high it makes it hard for a scratcher With good projects to get on the front page. I think that Those "Famous" scratchers take over the front page And set the boundry Too high For a really good scratcher the has never been front paged before To get On The front Page. what do you think? I mean, How many front pages can a "Famous"scratcher have?

i know its not. im just saying that scratchers that aren't noticed and have good projects should get the chance to be on the front page.

Well you have to realise that these people have worked hard to get on the front page, and that they are not hogging the front page on purpose (if I may put it that way).
Of course there may be the odd project that you may think does not belong on the front page but you have to understand that when these "famous" people became "famous", it's because they have worked hard and made good projects.
I hope that helps!

The front page has gotten way better. Have you played hotwire's game, "Stone Age!" ? Except that's probably the best one on the front page now.

I agree. I've never been on the front page, but one of my projects has 140 views.(7th, 8th, 9th top viewed if you put my project withthe projects in the most viewed recently category) But it's not up on the most viewed recently page in the 'Projects' tab. Any idea why? Well, anyway, it's hard to go up because all the other projects keep getting more views.

I apologize, but if those are "good projects", then my mind has gone defunctional.

I apologize, but if the community feels that the front page projects aren't worthy, then they have nothing except themselves to blame for putting it up there by clicking on it and viewing it.
The algorithm that defines what projects can hit the front page and what will not can be changed multiple times over, but one thing still remains - it's still community-controlled. So if we decide to take a look at a project even if the thumbnail clearly shows a topic we don't enjoy, then we must blame ourselves when it gets the top viewed slot. Likewise, if we continue searching the same users over and over again and faving their projects instead of taking the time out to view other projects by other lesser-known Scratchers (those who don't view the Show and Tell forums or check out Surprise projects, take note!), we will we stuck with the same Scratchers on the front page. Long story short - we can change the front page algorithm as many times as we like, but unless the community changes their method for finding projects, you will not the the front page changes that you would like to see.
As what jji7skyline said - most people who get the front page are not up there on purpose - they did have to work hard to get up there in the first place, from putting effort into their projects to getting involved in the community to share their work (and yes, becoming community involved does take effort!), so you cannot blame them for getting up there. People who supposedly get up there with minimal effort and minimal interaction with the community are very few and far between. If you really want a desired front page change, I suggest you take to heart the hint in the paragraph above this one and act upon it.
