becuase I am not to good at teen games so I wondered if I skipped portal 1 if I would not understand portal 2.

Nope. Portal 2 is fine to play without the first one.

I don't understand your reasoning there... Portal 1 isn't any harder than Portal 2.
However, I wouldn't recommend skipping the original. Not only would you be missing out on the original plot that the sequel builds on, but you can get both 1 & 2 on Steam for $35. How can you argue with that?

No, this person was asking if they wouldn't understand the story of the 2nd game if they skipped the 1st one because they aren't old enough to play T.

I think you can read up on the cover story in Wikipedia or something, or maybe use the magic information button.
You should be fine otherwise

I played 2 before 1, i think you should play 1 first. It'll make it less confusing then if you played 2 first

Don't skip Portal 1! Get the $35 bundle of Portal 1+2 like Harakou said.
Portal 1 is only rated Teen because you see blood on the wall when turrets shoot you. That's all.
Teen games aren't necessarily harder than E10+ games. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is rated E and it's much harder than Portal 2.

I only have a Wii and a Dsi.

I have a Mac OS X from 2009.
Will that play it?

A Mac from 2009 shouldn't have any problem. The Source engine runs extremely well, even on relatively underpowered hardware.
