Hey Scratch,
Have you noticed that scratchers are getting front paged for something pointless? If you have seen this happen you probably know that it is wrong. I know some scratchers like that stuff but why don't you put the stuff that takes at least SOME time to make on the front page. If you agree with me please reply to this post.

I agree.

This belongs in suggestions, no?
And most stuff takes days to be on the front page. The pointless stuff is mainly in Most Remixed.

Agreed!

i agree and its not fair on the other scratchers who arent famous

The Scratch Team selects projects they feel add something helpful and/or interesting to Scratch. If you feel your project should be selected, let them know!

Yep.

I disagree. People look at what they like. That's what makes them get front-paged.

Yeah, a terrible project made by a famous user is at least 10x more likely to get frontpaged than an amazing project by an unknown user. It's quite sad really
Offline
How do you tell the moderators about your project though? You're not allowed to tell them your own projects, only others projects.

Sure, it's not "fair", but trying to think of a way to get projects front-paged regardless of their views is difficult (if you want something more complex than any random three projects on the front page). There are 2 million projects and 866,000 users on Scratch, that's a lot of projects!
Anyway, I like to think that that is what the curator is for. The only times I've ever gotten on the front page is through curation (and "Newest projects").

Well, tell me, how should unknown Scratchers get on the frontpage if nobody knows about them? Be realistic. If only the actual best projects were on the front page, then it would just be another group of famous people, and people would keep on complaining.

Well that came out of nowhere XD. Honestly, I do not know what to say to this topic.

Very nice and constructive.
This is actually how the Front Page was designed, to show the most popular and viewed projects. Try hard enough and you might get in. But I think that actually getting onto the Front Page doesn't make you special, making something actually good does.

The titles are there for a reason. “top viewed lately” means that recently, it was top viewed. It’s not like it was picked random out of the fast majority of all scratch projects.
I hate when people make assumptions like this.

The scratch community decides what goes up, are you telling me you'd rather have the scratch team take away your privileges and put up only what they thought was good?

I feel very rude for saying this, but I think that would be really nice if they choose what appeared on the front page, like the "Featured Projects". Those usually have some nice projects on there.

that's not rude at all.
although I think they have the featured page there so they can pick some of the front page, but not all of it. It's a pretty even setup they got going.

But why would you need to display all the popular, remixed, or loved projects on the front page? I don't fully understand the logic in this. They are already being noticed enough, why not put the least new popular, remixed, etc. projects on the front page? Then you would still get an even sample of the community, if that was the original goal.
Just a couple thoughts on this.

click and search for 'front page'. The problem is Scratch Team doesn't do anything about changing the website in the next few months, because they're too busy with the new Scratch 2.0 website design.
