Spore isn't really a sandbox game, but it's pretty fun and interesting. I would recommend it.
Minecraft, Redwall, and Cyberchase fan, and PROUD.

IDK, maybe Everybody Edits, you make levels you can move around in and such.

Halo Forge, because that's the only thing I know 
But it's pretty fun. Protip-Mass Spawn Rocket Launchers, until your budget runs out. No matter what the other guy throws at you, a rocket will destroy it. Even Scorpion or Wraith.

Lords of Uberdark is epic. It's in Alpha, though, and it's pretty bad so far, but I like it more than when Minecraft was in Alpha (LOUd is an unblocky minecraft, basically, but with less stuff so far). I'd recommend buying it, it's $10 for now. You probably wouldn't be able to do much now, but in the future with multiplayer and everything, it'll basically be an awesome version of Minecraft.
EDIT: Gmod (Garry's Mod) is awesome as well. And isn't LA Noire a little inappropriate for this site? I mean, I loved the game, but basically all Rockstar games aren't for any family-friendly site 
And about Everybody Edits, I think he means more of a Minecrafty sandbox game-EE is a sandbox, but not exactly the same type.
