Maybe with a very strong telekinesis power.

Alright, I suppose I should tell you the superhero's powers, right?   

He has super strength, reasonable invulnerability, and can absorb and expel electricity.

lol. Yeah, nothing too unrealistic. The impact of him catching it from the ground would kill everyone inside. Which is bad. 

Then it's kind of impossible to find a realistic way for it to work.

Given sufficient strength he could jump high enough to land on plane at which point he could he could "throw" it upwards before it hits the ground to slow it almost a dead stop so it lands gently on the ground. Of course he would be pushed back at tremendous velocities so hopefully he has super bones to go along with super strenght.
