Scratch Board vs. Pico Board - a difference?
So the Pico Board is coming out, and the Scratch Board seems to be discontinued.
But, Is there any major difference between the two? They seem to do the same thing, which is provide a hardware interaction to Scratch. The fact that Pico Board costs some more makes me think that it is more advanced or has more features. Is this true?
ALSO: In the back of my mind I seem to have heard the term "Pico Board" before. Are these new products, or old products with newly added support for Scratch?

No, from what I know, there is no difference at all except the cost. It used to be 30, now it is 50.

The Playful Invention Company (PICO) is now selling the Scratch Board under the name PicoBoard. The PicoBoard is exactly the same as the ScratchBoard, they just have a different name.
The difference in cost I believe is due to the fact that they have to pay people to assemble the boards while the Scratch Board was assembled for free by volunteers at MIT.
I believe PICO is not making any profit from the boards though, so I wouldn't expect it to get a lower price.

I bet it costs more because of the stock market chaos.

From what I know is because there were not enough volunteers and resources to continue assembling them here.

The Scratch Board was subsidized by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at MIT, and thus it could be sold at a lower price. Unfortunately, that approach was not sustainable for the long term. The MIT Scratch Team decided it was better to rely on outside groups (such as PICO) for production and distribution of sensor boards that work with Scratch.

I thought it was called 'Pico Board' because i thought it meant a trillionth of a board size or something, pico is the prefix for 'trillionth'

I was excited because I saw the technical specifications above located here: "http://scratch.mit.edu/files/scratchboard/ScratchBoard_Tech_InfoR1.pdf ". I was going to build one; however, it appears this link doesn't work any longer.
Does anyone have an idea of where the specifications lie?
